ABOUT
"YourOwn" is a short film directed and produced by Ithaca College students Madeline Leitner and Juliana Luis.
The film focuses on Charlie, a lonely bachelor who’s convinced to buy a YourOwn - a human-esque robot customizable to one’s relationship needs. While his YourOwn Clara has a unique independence, she differs from that of his friend Teddy's YourOwn who's completely loyal and subservient to him. After the two don't click, Charlie’s own insecurities push him to permanently erase all of Clara’s original characteristics. Although startled by the result, Charlie concludes that he is content with the “perfect submissive woman” that he used to condemn.
